BRBNRY is about passion and life. It’s about distilling creative, and having the freedom to take risks. It’s about letting the spark of creation burn, especially the side hustles, hobbies, and folk art projects that make up Americana culture. BRBNRY passions are family, philosophy, creativity, art and the joy of bourbon and rye whiskey. To anyone following a passion, we raise our glass.
Brbnry content primarily focuses on bourbon and rye whiskey culture and bottle reviews that's served up on our various brand channels. It’s worth mentioning that we’re not necessarily what you would call "whiskey traditionalist". Our perspectives and methods aren’t going to be for everyone. We’re okay with that and we hope you are too.
If you're wondering how to pronounce BRBNRY, it's technically "bourbon rye" without the vowels, but you can pronounce however you wish.
HOW WE RATE BOURBON AND RYE WHISKEY
How far would you walk in the great state of Kentucky to find a bottle of bourbon or rye whiskey? Would you walk 14 miles and back for a Weller Special Reserve? We would not. That would take 6+ hours. Would we walk 14 miles and back for a William Larue Weller (WLW)? Of course we would! Don’t be ridiculous.
There is a scale. We call it the Kentucky Mile. The highest rating is the length of Kentucky, 379 miles. The lowest score is 0. We post our scores, but don’t take them too seriously. One of our personal highest score at Brbnry is 379 for 2019 WLW. The idea is identify the furthest you would walk, for yourself, and then assign that score. Things taste better when you work for them. It’s not a universal scale, it means different things to different people, just like bourbon.

At work, I get by on weirdness and caffeine. I left my bourbon in the garage...(5 minutes passed)
